By popular demand, planning for the 2008 Shoot for a Cure began immediately following the 2007 ‘Shoot’. We were on to something! The ‘Shoot’ Board was expanded and the Shoot for a Cure Website was born. Through this website we were able reach out for more support and for more participants and volunteers as well as provide a means for on-line registration, donation and communication.
The 2008 ‘Shoot’ was held June 20 th and 21 st once again at New Pioneer Clay Target Center . The event was expanded to include a sponsor’s recognition dinner held a t Rube’s Steakhouse in Waukee, and live entertainment by Nashville recording artist and sporting clays enthusiast TJ Klay. We also expanded the course to include 100 targets of sporting clays, and a choice between 25 targets at skeet, 5-stand or Trap. A 30 –target Flurry machine was available for those who wanted an extra challenge for fun! A youth shoot was held Friday which attracted a handful of shooters. The Friday VIP shoot was once again attended by some of Iowa ’s best “ Hired Guns”.
We enjoyed meals provided by Rube’s, and Chic-fil-a, and the Madison County Cattleman’s Association, and expanded our 2008 auction with even more variety than the 2007 auction.
